Mascara Week, Day 1: Diorshow Iconic

Hoy empiezo una serie de entradas en las que durante esta semana hablaré de 5 máscaras de pestañas distintas, una al día, de marcas y precios muy distintos y el Sábado comentaré mis impresiones finales y mi ranking.

Today I begin a series of entries during this week in which i’ll talk about 5 different mascara, one per day, from different brands and prices and on Saturday I will discuss my impressions and i’ll decide my final top five.

Ya sé que todas las publicidades tienden a exagerar un poco y desde luego no esperaba que me quedasen las pestañas como en el anuncio, si os fijáis es obvio que la Bellucci o lleva pestañas postizas o éstas están bastante descaradamente dibujadas por ordenador, como el resto de la cara la verdad, no entiendo por qué una marca contrata a una mujer tan guapa para luego deformar sus fotos hasta el punto de que parezca una muñeca virtual, digo yo que para eso que creen directamente una cara por ordenador y se ahorren el sueldo de la famosa, del fotógrafo de prestigio y de todo su equipo. Pero en fin, a lo que vamos, que no esperaba que me quedasen así pero aún con eso he quedado un poco decepcionada, la máscara queda bien pero francamente me gusta mucho más la Diorshow normal, que no tendrá un cepillo oblicuo ni será tan sofisticada como esta, pero que te hace unas pestañas tan espesas y tupidas que casi te sirven de abanico. Y a mí me encantan así.

I’m aware that all the ads tend to exaggerate a little and certainly i did not expect my lashes to be like the ones in the advertisment, if you look at it it’s obvious that la Bellucci either wears false eyelashes or they are quite blatantly drawn by computer, like the rest of the face to tell the truth, i do not understand why a brand hires such a beautiful woman and then deforms her photos so much that she then looks like a virtual doll, they should design a face by computer directly and save the salary of the famous woman, of the prestigious photographer and of his team. But anyway, being said that i had not expected such lashes, even with that in mind i am a little disappointed, frankly the mascara looks nice but i much prefer the normal Diorshow one, it might not have an oblique brush or be as sophisticated as this Iconic whatever, but it makes you lashes so thick and dense that you could almost use them as a fan. And moi loves them that way.

El efecto no me ha impresionado demasiado, me parece una mascara bastante normal tirando a buena pero por su fama y el precio esperaba más. Yo tengo las pestañas bastante largas de forma natural y no me las rizo casi nunca (en la foto obviamente están sin rizar) ya que soy bastante inútil con el aparatejo (mi rizador está muerto de risa en un cajón prácticamente desde que lo compre). Mi impresión es que la Diorshow Iconic se limita a colorearlas y alargarlas un poco (en la foto está el resultado después de 3 capas, por eso puede apreciarse algún pegote que otro, pero es que si no apenas se apreciaba casi nada), no he notado ni que las curve, ni que las separe una a una y sobre todo nada de ese efecto ojos de muñeca que muchas cuentan por internet. Esta máscara fue un regalo y cuando se me acabe no la volveré a comprar, me quedo con la Diorshow clásica, esa sí que lo vale.

The final result has not impressed me at all, it seems to me like a pretty normal kind of good mascara but due to its fame and price I expected more. I have quite long lashes naturally and I almost never curl them (in the picture they are obviously not curled) as I’m pretty useless with the damn thing (my curler has been sitting at the bottom of a drawer most of the time since i bought it). My impression is that the Diorshow Iconic simply colors them and lengthens a little bit (in the picture is the result after 3 coats, that’s why there is some goop, but i had to do the 3 of them to see any obvious effect), I haven’t noticed that it curls the eyelashes or separates them one by one and none of that particular doll’s eye effect that many have rave about online. This mask was a gift and when it’s finished it i will not buy it again, i prefer to stick to the classic Diorshow, that’s the one that is really worth its price.
